On the long wait til payday ...

I have just checked my bank account and at the moment I have precisely one pound and twenty eight pence to last me until I get paid next Thursday. I thought I was due to be paid yesterday, so imagine my horror when I realised last night that there's still another week to go until I get my hard-earned cash! I'm still owed nearly five hundred pounds from the Saturdays I worked at school and I've already managed to spend that money about tens times over while I've been waiting for it. I guess I'll just have to win the lottery - and fast.

I never buy lottery tickets myself, but I am in the syndicate at school (which I actually forgot about until a moment ago because I've yet to see any kind of winnings from my monthly investments!) I wonder what would happen if we actually won?! None of the teachers, teaching assistants or office staff would turn up to work and the classrooms would just be full of children going mental with no adults to (attempt) to control them. Maybe they'd just have to close the school down until they could find enough new suckers to take on our jobs : )
